KC, the overall champion of SUKOL 2023

SERDANG, June 21 – The Chancellor College (KC) of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) emerged as the overall champion of the College Sports Championship (SUKOL) 2022/2023 and even won the overall SUKOL championship for the men's category.

KC Representative Council’s sports secretariat, who is also a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Chemistry student, Faculty of Science, Ahmad Musthofa Mohd Haniff said the KC championship bagged the overall champion title after successfully winning nine sporting events that his college participated in.

"We managed to win nine sporting competitions, namely, men's basketball, netball, men's tenpin bowling, women's petanque, men's and women's volleyball, men's archery, and relay events for both categories.

"In the beginning, we were far behind in collecting tournament points, but I have always advised the KC participants that nothing is impossible to achieve, like what we have achieved today," he stated with utmost happiness.

He said this when met after the closing ceremony of the UPM SUKOL 2022/2023 session at the UPM Stadium here last night.

The overall championship trophy was presented by UPM Vice Chancellor, Dato' Prof. Dr. Mohd. Roslan Sulaiman together with Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International), Prof. Dr. Ismi Arif Ismail, and UPM Sports Academy Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tajularipin Sulaiman.

Meanwhile, the best SUKOL organiser award was won by Kolej Tan Sri Aishah Ghani (KTAG), while the overall champion of SUKOL in the female category was held by Kolej Tun Dr. Ismail (KTDI).

Also, the KTDI A football team defeated Kolej Pendeta Za'Ba (KPZ) A 4-2 through a penalty shoot-out in the last moments of the closing ceremony of SUKOL UPM here last night. -UPM
