UPM Lecturers Win National Book Award 2018

KUALA LUMPUR, 30 April – Three lecturers from the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and Department of Aerospace, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) won the Best General Book Award for the Flora and Fauna category in the National Book Award Ceremony 2018.

 

The book, written by Professor Ir. Dr. Mohd Sapuan Salit, Dr. Mohamad Ridzwan Ishak and Associate Professor Dr. Zulkifle Leman titled Pokok Enau: Potensi dan Produk Pembangunan, is based on their research which is a continuation of the UCTC NBOS community project carried out by UPM.

 

A senior lecturer from the Department of Management and Marketing, Faculty of Economics and Management, UPM, Dr. Samsudin Yaacob, won the award for the Best Public Book (Public & Private Rules Category) through a book entitled Enforcement Operations: Public & Private Enforcement Agencies. The book provides the technical skills to guide enforcement officers in carrying out their duties particularly in crime prevention.

 

Senior lecturers from the Department of Professional Development and Continuing Education, Faculty of Educational Studies, UPM, Associate Professor Dato' Dr. Norhasni Zainal Abidin and Halim Ibrahim won the Best Design Award for a book titled Istana Pahang (Palaces of Pahang).

 

All three books were published by UPM Press. – UPM
