PUTRAJAYA, March 2 – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is among eight higher education institutions (HEIs) to ink a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) and six Timber Associations.
It was held at the Launching Ceremony of the Engineer Placement and Internship Programme in the Timber Industry 2021 organised by MTC, here.
The MoU inking ceremony between the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC), Timber Associations, HEIs and Polytechnics was witnessed by the Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad, and the Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, Dato’ Dr. Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali.
The MoU will provide a platform for timber industry operators and HEIs to ensure the engineer placement and internship programmes are a success and provide an opportunity for high impact research and collaboration.
Also present at the ceremony were the Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, Dato’ Sri Dr. Wee Jeck Seng; Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Datuk Seri Dr. Mazlan Yusoff; Secretary-General of the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities, Datuk Ravi Muthayah; Member of the MTC Board of Trustees, Dato’ Ahmad Nadzarudin Abdul Razak and Chief Executive Officer of MTC, Tuan Muhtar Suhaili. – UPM
