UPM – Muslim Best Marketing to work closely in developing halal system

SERDANG, Jan 23 – The Halal Product Research Institute of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Syarikat Muslim Best Marketing (M) Sdn. Bhd are set to work closely together in developing halal system and manual.

UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Aini Ideris said such strategic collaboration will benefit both UPM and Muslim Best in steering the field of research to a greater dimension.

“This will give UPM the opportunity to share its expertise and existing technology, for instance, its laboratories, to analyze the food, product labeling and halal authentication analysis as well as implementing halal market feasibility,” she said at a signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UPM and Muslim Best Marketing (M) Sdn. Bhd, here.

The MoU was signed between Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Aini Ideris on behalf of UPM and Muslim Best (M) Sdn. Bhd.President, Dato’ Sheikh Ahmad Dasuki Sheikh Mohamad, on behalf of  Muslim Best Marketing (M) Sdn. Bhd.

Also present were UPM IPPH Director, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Yazid Abd. Manap and Deputy President of Muslim Best (M) Sdn. Bhd., Dato’ Nik Izani Nik Ibrahim.

Dato’ Sheikh Ahmad Dasuki Sheikh Mohamad said the cooperation had given the company the opportunity to be involved with a local higher learning institution to share information on halal product manufacturing.

“Our company deals with Anchor-Vendor factory that produces food products and will analyze Anchor-Vendor products using the facilities at IPPH, UPM. Both parties will ensure that the raw materials, machines and detergents follow halal certification as set by the syariah,” he said.

Syarikat Muslim Best Marketing (M) Sdn. Bhd has been given the responsibility by Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) to run the Anchor-Vendor factory to manufacture instant noodles, biscuits, potato chips and juices.- UPM
