Ministry of Home Affairs Under Secretary Receives His PhD

SERDANG, 30 Oct –In the quest of seeking knowledge to the highest level, Dato’ Muhamad Sade Mohamad Amin, Undersecretary for Prisons, Anti-Drug and Civil Volunteers Division, Ministry of Home Affairs, braved the torturous and agonising journey for eight years before being conferred with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree today.

 

His efforts and sacrifice paid off when he received his PhD in management from Putra Business School (PBS) Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) at the 42nd Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Convocation Ceremony here.

 

 “The PhD journey was full of challenges especially when I am at the peak of my career,” he said.  This 48 year old native of Tawau, Sabah said that the main factor of his success was the guidance and patience of his two academic advisors, Prof. Dr. Haslinda and Associate Prof. Dr Fuad, who are both from the Faculty of Economics and Management, UPM.

Muhamad Sade said that he allocated two hours daily for revision and fully utilised those hours as his work schedule was restricting. “I uphold the belief that education is the main thrust of life and knowledge which should be pursued for as long as you are able to,” said Dato’ Muhamad Sade who wishes to attend the executive postgraduate programme at Harvard University.

 

He plans to publish a book in the near future based on his thesis looking at the area of internet payment system while his long term plan is to continue his career to the highest level. - UPM
