SERDANG - A pair of twins, Muhammad Hazman Mustaffer and Muhammad Hazmi Mustaffer, 19 years old, were among the 3,428 new students of the Bachelor programmes of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) who registered for the first semester of the 2017/2018 session on 12 September.

They are from Alor Star, Kedah, and had completed their early education at Sekolah Kebangsaan Langgar (2006-2011) before continuing their secondary studies at Sultan Abdul Hamid College, Alor Setar from 2011 till 2015. Then they continued their studies at the Centre of Foundation Studies for Agricultural Science at UPM (2016-2017).

Both of them are pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

Hazman said UPM was their first choice due to their deep interest in animal care and the fact that UPM has its own animal hospital apart from being among the world's best universities in veterinary medicine.

"We also wish to serve livestock farmers by providing assistance to unhealthy animals and improving their health," he said.

An interesting fact about the twins is that five of their other family members are UPM alumni. They are Mustaffer Abdullah (the Father), Diploma in Agriculture; two sisters, Nurhazwani Mustaffer, Bachelor of Horticultural Science (2004-2007), Nurhafizah Mustaffer, Bachelor of Food Technology (2013-2017); two brothers, Muhammad Hazwan Mustaffer, Veterinary Medicine Doctor (2008-2012); and Muhammad Harith Mustaffer, Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (2011-2014).

The twins wish to become Veterinary Doctors capable of serving the community in providing efficient and productive knowledge on livestock management.

They are also determined to work hard to achieve success that would make their family proud.
