Kuala Lumpur, 7 July – A group of first-year students from the Department of Civil Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has won third place in the Tower Crane Competition 2018.
The objective of the competition was to provide exposure on the structural stability and mechanism of tower cranes, and the contestants were expected to build a sturdy tower crane using newspapers.
Other than the first-year team, a second-year UPM team was also among the 12 teams from various higher education institutions, who participated in the competition organised by UCSI University, Kuala Lumpur Campus.
The first-year team, who was better known as Putra Tower, comprised Nor Azraei Nor Kadim (team leader), Muhammad Akmal Arman Saiful Madzi, Muhammad Syafiq Misnawi, Mohd Fazli Abd Rashid and Mohamad Razeen Iqbal Roslan.
