SERDANG – 50 Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) students have attended the Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony live-streamed online from the An-Nur Quranic Centre’s Facebook account recently.
MyFundAction Founder and Main Advisor, Dr. Mohd Hizul Azri Md Noor, said the initiative was aimed at encouraging the community, especially the youth, to be closer to Allah SWT.
According to Dr. Mohd Hizul Azri, he hoped the effort would be blessed, especially since it was done during Ramadhan, and hoped various parties and the community would benefit from the programme.
The Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony features recitals by Qari and Qariah from Malaysia, Egypt, Indonesia, New Zealand, Chad, Bangladesh, Russia and Morocco.
About 7,000 participants from all over the world participated in the Khatam Al-Quran forum and ceremony via live broadcast on the An-Nur Quranic Centre’s Facebook account.
UPM students were among the participants at the event. UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato Paduka Setia Dato’ Dr Aini Ideris, was also present.
Meanwhile, the closing ceremony of the International Ramadan Fiesta on May 17, 2020 (23 Ramadan 1441H) was held to honour the efforts and commitment of the youths for their dedication to be closer to the Al-Quran.
At the closing ceremony, the Nuzul Quran Forum and the Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony were held to celebrate those who have successfully completed the reading of the 30 chapters of the Al-Quran during the “Quarantine VS QuranTime” Programme held since the beginning of the Movement Control Order (MCO).
The panellists in the “Nuzul Quran Forum: The Al-Quran as a Source of Unity for Ummah” consisted of the Mufti of Sabah, Datuk Bungsu @ Aziz bin Jaafar; Mufti of Pahang, Dato' Sri Dr Abdul Rahman Osman and Dr Mohd Hizul Azri.
The issues of fardhu ain and fardhu kifayah during the MCO and Ramadhan were discussed in-depth at the forum. - UPM
