Muhammad Khairul Adib receives UPM’s Anugerah Tokoh Siswa

SERDANG – Muhammad Khairul Adib Muhammad Yusof, a Bachelor of  Science (Honours) student, majoring in Physics, from the Faculty of Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has been named the recipient of UPM’s Anugerah Tokoh Siswa for the 2015/2016 Session.

He received an iPad Air 2, a certificate and a flight ticket of three days and two nights to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, which were presented by UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Aini Ideris.

Muhammad Khairul Adib, 22, expressed hope that the award will be inspirational to him and other UPM undergraduates and make them more hardworking and diligent in their studies as well as to be more active in campus activities.

“I will use and give back the knowledge and experience that I have gained during my studies to the community. It is my hope that students and UPM alumni will always stick to the motto, Berilmu Berbakti,” he said at the event where he was presented with the award.

Muhammad Khairul Adib who used to represent Malaysia at the European Centre for Nuclear Research (CERN) Summer Programme in Geneva, Switzerland and ASEAN Students Conference of Science in Jogjakarta, Indonesia, intends to continue his postgraduate studies in the field of Astrophysics or Particle Physics in the United Kingdom after graduation.



Meanwhile, Prof Datin Paduka Dr. Aini said students should be competent and prepare themselves to brace challenges in the working environment.

"The knowledge and experience gained at the university is an early process in the formation of a mature student. You must be wise enough to utilize the knowledge and experience according to suitability of surrounding factors in pursuit of excellence,” she said.

The Anugerah Siswa Gemilang 2015/2016 Session offers 21 awards in recognition of Final Year students who have displayed and demonstrated leadership, integrity, superior performance and commitment in extra co-curricular activities, obtained excellent results in academic and active in associations /clubs that organize high-impact programmes. – UPM.
